Do You Remember
Your Call?
May
8, 2008 proved to be a delightful evening of good food and fellowship as
16 Parish Nurses and 2 guests came together to celebrate our Network’s
3rd Annual Parish Nurses Day. Sister Eileen Wrobleski, Memorial’s Senior
Vice President of Mission Integration and Barbara Weinhold, past
Coordinator joined in the celebration. Ministry stories and updates on
prayer requests were shared. The evening culminated with a
call-to-ministry Power Point presentation “Do You Remember Your Call?”
using Scriptural calls from past graduates of Memorial Parish Nurse
Preparation Program. Members from nine of our 16 classes were represented;
stories or class experiences were relived and shared — a wonderful
reminder that, though many, we are one! Below is the prayer from the
evening.
Loving
God,
We
have come together during Nurses Week to celebrate Parish Nurses Day; but
we are ever-mindful that without you, we wouldn’t be here. Under your
guidance Faith Community/Parish Nurse/Health Ministry continues to grow in
our area. We have been blessed with women and men of faith who embraced
the concept of health ministry, learned more about whole person health and
wellness, and in some instances braved new territory to make the ministry
happen in their faith communities. Our stories are important and we are
grateful for the opportunity to come together to celebrate those stories.
We ask you to bless us as we continue our ministry with your people.
Bless
those around us who continue to support and encourage us and who remind us
that it is not about us but it is about your Love for us that sustains us
in ministry.
Bless
this food that it may nourish our body, mind, and spirit so we can
continue this work of yours. We ask these things in the name of the one
who loves us and hears the prayers of our hearts.
Amen. |

Reminder
Monthly stats
reports document the impact of Parish Nursing/Health Ministry in the Chattanooga
and Tri-State area. Don't forget to send in your
monthly
stats report. Even if
your PN/HM does only an occasional health event, blood pressure screening, etc.,
that information is very important. When totaling your
numbers, please include the number of screenings done (blood pressure, blood
sugar, etc.) in the TOTAL NUMBER OF CONTACTS. For example: 8 initial contacts
plus 21 follow-up contacts plus 64 screenings will give a total of 93 contacts
for the month. Please try to approximate the number in each age bracket -- these
numbers are valuable trend numbers!
